About the artist

Jim is a graphic and web designer/developer, illustrator and animator based in Southern California. He began work as a medical illustrator creating correlative illustrations of nuclear medicine scans to be used to train the residents and fellows that rotated through the nuclear medicine clinic at UCLA.

From there Jim learned web design and development as these illustrations were organized into an online database of nearly 1,000 actual nuclear medicine patient cases that ranged from brain to spleen studies, from cancer to heart disease, from liver scans to lung scans.

Over the years, Jim has collaborated with Stanford, MD Anderson, Kings College London, NFL Network, Hardee’s/Carls Jr., Qantas, Tourism Australia, and the Nobel Foundation. His illustrations have been accepted as covers to the Journal of Nuclear Medicine, Science, Nature, Theranostics, Small, among others. Jim has designed and developed websites, illustrated and animated complex concepts, produced flyers, brochures and annual reports, as well as online marketing campaigns.
